• Case assessment & treatment planning

  • Clinical tooth structure assessment and evaluating difficulty with radiographs.

• Access cavity preparation

  • Designing access based on pre-operative radiographs and tooth anatomy.
  • Using magnification to read dentine colour, texture and the “map” to locate canals.

• Canal negotiation & preparation

  • Canal scouting, creating a reproducible glide path.
  • Activated irrigation techniques for disinfection.
  • Understanding and applying rotary and reciprocating preparation systems.

• Obturation (filling)

  • Achieving reliable cone fit and practising the technique.
  • Rationale and hands-on use of bioceramic sealers and materials.
  • Managing cases where canals cannot be filled conventionally.

• Retreatment strategies

  • Prognosis and assessment from crown to root.
  • Approaches to removing crowns, posts/cores and root filling materials.
  • Multiple techniques and alternative protocols for challenging retreatment cases.

• Consolidation & case-based learning

  • Consolidating access, disinfection, obturation and retreatment techniques.
  • Discussion of complications and how to manage them.
  • Interactive cases covering topics including resorption, pain management, perforation repair, restoring root-filled teeth, unusual anatomy and 3D imaging for diagnosis and planning.
