What you’ll cover (module-by-module)

Module 1 – Theory & case discussions

• Case selection, assessment and treatment planning for minor oral surgery
• Managing medically compromised patients
• Considerations for patients taking bisphosphonates and newer medications that may affect treatment planning

Modules 2–4 – Practical skills development (animal heads)

• Core principles of minor oral surgery
• Flap design, bone removal, and suturing
• Surgical extractions, retained roots and impacted teeth
• Wisdom tooth removal and apical surgery

Module 5 – Advanced practical training (cadavers)

• Complex dento-alveolar procedures such as OAF closure, socket preservation, and bone grafting
• Soft tissue grafts

Learning environment & delivery

• In-person training with dedicated facilities at LonDEC (King’s College London), including seminar teaching and practical sessions in the Skills Lab
• Each module is designed as a full-day experience (arrival/registration followed by prompt start; finishing mid-late afternoon)
