Fixed dental prostheses remain a highly predictable solution for replacing missing teeth—but long-term success depends on sound planning, precise preparations, and clear laboratory communication. This evidence-based, one-day, in-person course blends focused teaching with extensive phantom-head hands-on training to help you deliver both conventional and resin-bonded bridgework with greater confidence.

Led by Stefano Del Monte (DDS, DClinDent, MProst RCSED, FHEA)—a GDC Specialist in Prosthodontics—you’ll work through contemporary protocols you can apply immediately in general practice.

What you’ll learn (and use in practice)

You’ll build a clear, structured approach to:

• Case selection and treatment planning for fixed-fixed, fixed-moveable and resin-bonded options
• Bridge design principles grounded in biological and biomechanical fundamentals
• Preparation principles: margins, reduction, and achieving predictable parallelism
• Material selection, shade selection and impression techniques
• Laboratory communication: how to specify materials and connector dimensions and avoid common miscommunication
• Preventing failure: recognising frequent causes of complications and how to minimise them

Hands-on training: refine your preparations and provisionals

A major emphasis of the day is practical skill development with supervised feedback throughout. You will complete phantom-head exercises including:

• Conventional bridge preparations
• Resin-bonded bridge preparations using contemporary minimally invasive principles
• Assessment of preparation design and common preparation errors
• Chairside provisional bridge fabrication and cementation

This is supported by small-group teaching and individual guidance, helping you improve efficiency, accuracy, and clinical outcomes.
